In this episode of the More Movies Weekly podcast, Greg and Dave discuss The Matrix Resurrections (2021), the American science fiction action film produced, co-written, and directed by Lana Wachowski. It is the sequel to The Matrix Revolutions (2003) and the fourth installment in The Matrix film franchise.
In The Matrix Resurrections, to find out if his reality is a physical or mental construct, Mr. Anderson, aka Neo, will have to choose to follow the white rabbit once more. If he’s learned anything, it’s that choice, while an illusion, is still the only way out of — or into — the Matrix. Neo already knows what he has to do, but what he doesn’t yet know is that the Matrix is stronger, more secure and far far more dangerous than ever before.
We also discuss Ben Affleck’s decision to hang up the batsuit. In a recent interview, the actor announced he will no longer play the caped crusader in the DC Extended Universe after he completes his final appearance in the upcoming Flash project.
This week the world of cinema lost two giants in Peter Bogdanovich and the iconic Sidney Poitier. We pay tribute to these two master filmmakers, discussing their amazing lives and illustrious careers in the film industry.
